After a weekend of deliberation, I have decided to push all applications to R2. A few reasons for this :
1. I’ve recently started an outstation project, which has acted as speed-breaker to my essays in the last week.
2. This and other things have resulted in my career goals essay still not being complete. Its almost there, only a few minor modifications left to get the flow, and plug in some gaps, but I’ve decided not to hurry it up – I’m facing writer’s block in a big way nowadays!
3. My other essays are FAR from complete. I’ve just started on my Wharton, Columbia, Chicago essays, and I dont think I’ll be able to do justice in the next 10 days.
So Wharton / Chicago are now R2, Columbia is RD – I was actually never completely sure of Columbia for ED, and while its in my top 3-4, and I’d love to be there, I’m not too unhappy with RD either. I think I’ll still get a decent chance …
What does make me unhappy is that I’ll have to wait for results from my top schools till end March, which is too late. I was hoping I could resign earlier
Guess I’ll be part of this admissions roller coaster for a bit longer. I’m still quite sure I’ll be able to do Tuck and Stern in R1, and LBS is an outside chance.
I’m unhappy but its better to have well thought out apps than ones I’m not completely confident of – I’d rather be in the process longer (and successful), than be thrown off the ride earlier!
