This has been a l.o…n.g. vacation that I’m enjoying for the past two weeks. First I took three days off and went on a beach vacation, then the long Thanksgiving holidays were clubbed with an entire week of celebration… why? well, my sister’s getting married, so we’re having some celebrations and parties at home!
An interesting and entirely avoidable incident that happened was my Tuck application for scholarship! First, I don’t understand the need to ask people to write one more essay, with your biography (!) that too in 500 words. But I’m digressing – the stress shot up on Sunday night (I woke up at 2am) when I suddenly realized that Monday was the deadline for Tuck scholarships, and wrote down my biography
all night.
Then, I tried calling them the entire Monday (26th) but no one picked up the phone number given in the form. All that came was the voice mail asking one to leave a message! Come on guys, you could do better. You know the last day of the submission is when people call the financial aid office the most, and you put it on voicemail. So I had no choice but to fax across my form and essay, and keep my fingers crossed for the best. Now, why is only a paper copy accepted for this when all other forms are done online? I’d forgotten my own signature since its been a long time I did a non-digital signature
But I guess all’s well that ends well (I got an email receipt confirmation from them on Tuesday) and I’m back to my vacation spirit.
Nothing beats partying in the extended family setting!!!
So, did you get it finally? I have applied to Tuck also. I have not submitted my scholarship app yet (day after morrow is deadline). If you have already gotten it, can you help me?
